On arrival at Cape Town International Airport,
you collect your 2.0l automatic Audi A4 car
from our depot and depart immediately for your
hotel. The 4* Cape Town Lodge is situated on
the fringe of the central business district
of Cape Town and is within walking distance
of many major tourist attractions. The hotel
has earned a fine reputation for friendly hospitality
and outstanding service.

Day
3
After an early breakfast
at Cape Town Lodge, we suggest heading off
to the Clovelley Country Club for a round
of golf. Tucked away in the lovely Clovelly
Valley, surrounded by golden sand dunes, Clovelly
Country Club is one of the Cape Peninsula’s
hidden treasures. |
Situated
on the peninsula’s narrow strip of land between
Fish Hoek and the warm waters of False Bay
to the east, and Chapman’s Peak and the cold
Atlantic Ocean to the west, it is a challenging,
aesthetically-pleasing and immaculately kept
course. Opened in 1924, the course has excellent
fairways and POA Bent grass greens. Featuring
a very rural atmosphere with plenty of trees
and rich birdlife, the course is surrounded
by towering mountain ranges and sand dunes.
|
 |
|
|
Day 4
After an early breakfast
at Cape Town Lodge, we suggest heading off
to the Royal Cape Golf Club for more golf.
The history of the Royal Cape Golf Club dates
back to the turn of the century; however,
the existing course was only finalised in
the early 1930s.
|
 |
The
course sprawls across the Cape Flats, with the
holes well spaced-out and divided by trees,
thick bush and scrub. A large dam comes into
play on the third, fourth and fifth holes making
this a somewhat watery corner of the course.
All in all, it is a very demanding course with
narrow fairways, strategically placed bunkers
and fast greens. Several times host to the SA
Open, Royal Cape Golf Club is certainly one
of the best tests of golf in the country. |
|
|
Day
5
After an
early breakfast at Cape Town Lodge we suggest
beginning your journey to Oudtshoorn. We would
suggest travelling along ‘Route 62’, the longest
wine route in the world. De Opstal is situated
in the picturesque Schoemanshoek Valley, 12
km from Oudtshoorn en route to the Cango Caves.
The Lodge
consists of original farm buildings, circa 1830,
stables, wagon house, farmhouse, share cropper’s
house, garden and pool rooms all restored to
provide comfort, with garden entrances, air-conditioning,
fireplaces, mini bar and TV with MNet. Cosy
with intimate bathrooms. Relax in the salt water
swimming pool set in lush gardens and enjoy
traditional dishes in the rustic restaurant.
A working ostrich farm offering farm tours.
Board basis
is Bed & Breakfast. |
|
|
|
| Day
6
After breakfast
at De Opstal, we suggest heading to the Cango
Caves and doing a tour of this fascinating cave
system.
|
 |
After
this you are free to visit any attraction that
may be of interest to you.
After a scenic
2 hour drive to Knysna, you can check into the
Knysna Hollow Hotel. Your hotel is set on secluded
old country estate near Knysna's famous lagoon
and offers comfortable bedrooms.
The main
manor house, built in a bygone era, has high
pressed ceilings and yellowwood floors and houses
the restaurant and adjoining bar. |
 |
This is where fine cuisine and Cape wines are
enjoyed in a relaxed environment.

is Bed & Breakfast. |

Day
8
After an early breakfast
at Knysna Hollow, we suggest heading off to
Plettenberg Bay Country Club for a round of
golf. Plettenberg Bay Country Club is an integral
part of the social fabric of Plettenberg Bay.
Whilst members regularly enjoy the privileges
of the club and take their golf seriously, holidaymakers
and tourists are welcome to play the eighteen-hole
golf course as well as enter the Wednesday,
Thursday and Saturday competitions. The entire
course is a proclaimed Nature Reserve and playing
the course is quite therapeutic, no traffic
noise, no intrusive houses - instead there are
lush fairways, majestic trees and an abundance
of birdlife.
|
While the course is not long, driving accuracy
is essential for dealing with the Piesang River,
which meanders through the course. During the
year 2002 all greens were upgraded to U.S.G.A.
specifications, new bunkers and water features
were introduced lifting the quality of the course
to a new level, up there with the best. |
 |
|
|
Day 9
After an early breakfast
at Knysna Hollow, we suggest heading off to
Fancourt Country Club for today’s golf.
Bramble Hill is the fourth course at Fancourt,
but it has a character all of its own. Built
in response to a need for an 18-hole facility
that would be accessible to the community
of George and surrounding areas.
|
 |
Bramble Hill is truly a public golf course
in the sense that there are no restrictions
on who can play at any given time. Bramble
Hill offers a golf experience that is relaxed
and friendly, without any “private country
club” intimidation!
The course itself is challenging enough to
test the most proficient golfer, yet it is
sure to be an enjoyable round even for beginners.

Day
10
After breakfast
at Knysna Hollow, you will have the opportunity
to see any last sights you would like to take
in, in Knysna. After this it is time to drive
through the Garden Route back towards Cape Town.
Shortly before Cape Town you check into the
Spier Hotel in Stellenbosch, the heart of the
Cape Winelands. Spier Estate just outside Stellenbosch
in the heart of the world-renowned Cape winelands,
is only 15 minutes from the beaches of Gordon's
Bay and the Strand and a quick 30-minute drive
from central Cape Town. Spier offers many entertainment
and leisure options for both the relaxed and
the robust. Meticulous renovation has restored
the gracious Cape Dutch buildings to their former
glory and today the scenic surroundings set
the stage for a celebration of the finer things
in life.
Board basis
is Bed & Breakfast. |
|
|
|
| |
Day
11
After breakfast at The Spier Hotel, you head
off on the estate to the De Zalze Golf Course
for a round of golf. De Zalze Country Club opened
in the latter part of 2000. The golf course
forms part of the splendid multi-faceted Spier
estate and the Peter Matkovich design has added
another quality product to the estate. This
is a course that immediately received high praise
for its layout in the midst of working vineyards
and orchards.
The
Stellenbosch mountain range acts as a constant
backdrop, adding to the reputation the course
has gained for its scenic surrounds. Since its
opening much has been done to mature the course
to perfection. Especially the recently opened
new club house has received high praise from
all who visit it.
